Working in small groups, managers tackle management and organisational issues or problems, and learn with others from their attempts to change things.

Ackroyd consulting provides skilled facilitators who ensure the group members develop the skills essential to action learning – skills which in themselves enable them to be better managers. The consultants act as facilitators of the group meetings to ensure maximum effectiveness and challenge. Over time group members are trained to take over the facilitation so that groups become self managing. Why do it?

Action learning can be used to achieve a range of business goals. It is particularly effective where managers work too tightly in divisional silos and need to break down barriers to save time and money. Frequently middle managers know what the issues are but need encouraging to really tackle them head on: action learning enables them to shift from blaming “the management” to identifying ways to change working practices to improve business success.
